annie hall

Jun you should try body conditioning class. They do strength training with body bar or light weights.

I just don't feel I could fit in in kickboxing or boxing class (cardio kickboxing is slightly better). People there seem to have so much anger inside. Especially the guys..you know..they make "si si " or "hei hei" noise all the times, throw the punches with real anger in their eyes while all they stare at is their own image in the mirror. Kind of bothers me.

I should learn Pilates. I heard it's good for body conditioning.

"I heard so much Wagner at last night's concert that I'm ready to invade Poland." :-D

Sometimes I wonder if one has to be a New Yorker to enjoy his movies. Oh, wait, you ARE a New Yorker! :-D

I don't think it has anything to do with being New Yorker. Woody Allen's jokes are a bit more cerebral, like the joke on Wagner, you sorta have to know that Wagner is anti-semitic and would most likely lend a caricatural support to the Thrid-Reich had he lived long enough to see it, so that's how it ties in with invading Poland. Nobody else has ever cracked a joke like that, so it's fresh!
Besides, just like some people like Ben Stiler (normal guy trapped in extreme circumstances), others like Adam Sandler (retards bumbling in the real world), and then there are the American Pie fanatics. Comedy tickles us in different ways. That's all.

And what has me rolling on the floor is Fawlty Tower. I can watch the same episode for five times and still laugh uncontrollably. :-D

Same here!
My favourite episode is "The Germans", that line "You started it, you invaded Poland!" is just classic, and the careful build-up of hysteria is supremely clever.
Even the Germans found Fawlty Towers funny. Once towards end of a meeting a German guy actually quoted: "I know nothing..." in a mimicking Spanish accent, to which I immediately answered: Are you from Barcelona by any chance?

I say "I know NUSSing! I'm from Barcelona" all the time too with a coworker who is also a fan. I also love the episode with the deaf but demanding elderly woman guest who could not find her glasses or her money... "Dragonfly." :-D

woody allen's books are so funny that i can't help but wonder what else he could've excelled at if he weren't in the film business. but i haven't watched that many movies by him for some reason.

jun, now you got me interested--what's fawlty tower?

'Fawlty Towers' is the funniest TV series I've seen, statistically it has the most laughs per minute of any British sitcom.
